R-MC Men's Soccer Vaults Into 16-Game Slate

The Randolph-Macon men's soccer team has released its schedule for the 2022 season. The Yellow Jackets will play in 16 regular season contests, nine of which are at home. After accumulating a 10-4-3 record last season and earning the third seed in the ODAC tournament, the team has high hopes for yet another great season under Josh Laux.

Randolph-Macon will open the season with back-to-back home games on Labor Day weekend as part of the annual Yellow Jacket Classic. The first of two games features Southern Virginia on Saturday, Sept. 3 while the second is a battle with Eastern Connecticut State, a team who won the Little East Conference championship last season, on Sunday, Sept. 4. Averett is also traveling to Ashland and will be in action against the same opponents that weekend.

From there, the Yellow Jackets will travel to Staunton, Va. on Sept. 7 to play Mary Baldwin for the second time in as many years. They finish the week with a home contest on Sept. 9 against Wisconsin Lutheran.

R-MC will wrap up its non-conference schedule with a home affair with Catholic, who took the crown as Landmark Conference champions last season, and a road game against Regent on Saturday, September 17.

ODAC play will open with a home rivalry game against Hampden-Sydney on Wednesday, September 21 followed by two road games at Lynchburg, the defending ODAC champs, and Virginia Wesleyan, the team who defeated R-MC in the conference tournament last season.

The month of October consists of seven conference matchups, beginning with two home games, one with Randolph on Saturday, October 1, and the other against Eastern Mennonite on the ensuing Wednesday. R-MC then goes on the road for two games against Roanoke and Bridgewater before returning home October 15 for a home contest with Guilford.

The regular season wraps up with a home game against Washington and Lee on October 22, a team who spent time as the top ranked team in the country last season, and a road game with Shenandoah on October 26.
