Osborne Named CIAA Player of the Week
Virginia Union University's Robert Osborne has been named the CIAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the CIAA announced on Tuesday, December 27.
Osborne scored a career-high 33 points, along with 11 rebounds and four assists in the 101-92 overtime loss to conference foe Livingstone on the road. The Richmond, VA, native shot 58 percent from the field, making 14 of 24 shot attempts in the game last week. This is the senior's sixth double-double and he has scored double-digits in every game this season.
"Robbie continues to be our most consistent player so far this season" said VUU Head Men's Basketball Coach Jay Butler. "He's off to a great start in conference play and he is doing a great job filling the stat sheet up in all statistical categories."
Virginia Union will face Fairmont State University at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
