Six educators were recently inducted into the Chesterfield County Public Schools Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place on May 1, highlighting the achievements and contributions of these professionals. The event increased the total number of Hall of Fame members to 30 since its establishment in 2022.
The new inductees include Katherine Baugher, a theater teacher at Midlothian High; Bessie Cooper, principal of Bensley Elementary; Kathy Kitchen, assistant superintendent of business and finance; Catherine “Kitty” Neale, a Spanish teacher at Bird High; Brad Peebles, who advanced from being a biology teacher to principal of the Juvenile Detention Center; and Linda Wood, who served in various roles, culminating in director of elementary education.
The Chesterfield County Public Schools Hall of Fame is a collaboration with the Chesterfield Education Foundation and acknowledges retirees and volunteers with notable contributions. The event was supported by numerous sponsors, including TowneBank as the title sponsor, George and Darlene Emerson as platinum sponsors, and several others as gold sponsors such as Bon Secours Richmond, Sonny and Alan Currin, Diaz Team/KW Metro Center, and Estes Trucking.
Nominations are currently open for the 2026 Hall of Fame class. Interested parties can submit nominations for former employees and volunteers by completing the necessary form before August 31. The form provides information on the eligibility criteria for induction.
The Hall of Fame also maintains a digital presence on the school system’s website, featuring photos, biographies, and videos of the inductees. Additionally, honoree photos are displayed at the Thomas R. Fulghum Conference Center located at 13900 Hull Street Road.
