Advisory committees are an established way for community members to engage with Chesterfield County Public Schools. These committees consist of appointed members from each of the county’s five magisterial districts, including parents, teachers, staff members, students, and other interested individuals.

“Advisory committee members who are appointed by the School Board must reside in the district they represent,” according to the guidelines. Parent representatives on the Gifted Education Advisory Committee must have a child enrolled in the gifted program within Chesterfield County Public Schools.

The deadline for applying to these advisory committee positions is July 31. The available seats include:

– Audit and Finance Committee: Bermuda District representative for a term from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027.
– Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee: Dale District representative for a term from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2028.
– Citizens Budget Advisory Committee: Clover Hill District representative for a term from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027.
– Environmental Stewardship Advisory Committee: Midlothian District representative for a partial term ending June 30, 2026.
– Gifted Education Advisory Committee: Dale District representative for a partial term ending June 30, 2026.
– School Health Advisory Board:
– Dale District representative for a term from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2028.
– Matoaca District representatives for terms ending on June 30 of either year.
