Chesterfield County Public Schools has announced that registration is open for children who will be five years old by September 30 to enroll in kindergarten for the 2026-27 school year. Early registration is encouraged to help schools plan and ensure students have a strong start.
The registration process involves two steps. First, families must complete online preregistration starting March 2. Required documents include the student’s birth certificate, an emergency contact phone number, and information about any previous schools attended if applicable.
After completing online preregistration, families will be contacted by their designated school to arrange an in-person appointment as the second step of the process.
A video overview of the process is available in both English and Spanish. More details on registration requirements can be found at bit.ly/CCPSregister.
Parents with questions are advised to contact the school their child will attend. For those unsure about which school corresponds to their address, a school locator tool is available at bit.ly/myCCPS.
“It’s time for the class of 2039 to register for kindergarten,” according to Chesterfield County Public Schools.
Registering now will help schools prepare for the best possible kindergarten year, which in turn will give students a strong start to their K-12 years.
