Chesterfield County Public Schools recognized its 2026 Students of the Year on April 16 during a celebration attended by students, their families, School Board members, and school leaders.

The annual event highlights students who have shown dedication, perseverance, strong character, and academic excellence throughout the district. These students are selected from every school in central Virginia’s largest school system for their significant contributions to the community and for embodying values such as respect, responsibility, honesty, and accountability.

During the ceremony sponsored by Feinstein 360 Orthodontics, phrases like “embodies the very best of our school community” and “comes to school like a ray of sunshine” were used to describe this year’s honorees. The event celebrated a total of 133 students from virtual programs as well as elementary, middle, and high schools across Chesterfield County.

Students recognized include Ethan Waugh from CCPSOnline; Tabitha Condrey and Faye Vogel from Chesterfield Virtual School; Anderson Gomez Castillo and Mileya Israel Ghee from Bellwood Elementary; Bria Frye and Wyatt Smith from Bailey Bridge Middle; Imani Evans and Lucy Soukup from Bird High; among many others representing each educational level within the district.

The recognition program aims to make each student feel welcomed and valued while encouraging leadership qualities in classrooms. Organizers described these individuals as “a true light in the classroom” who positively impact those around them.

By celebrating these achievements annually, Chesterfield County Public Schools continues its tradition of acknowledging student integrity and leadership. The event underscores ongoing efforts to foster positive values throughout its educational community.
