Chesterfield County Public Schools announced on April 14 that it will hold a Gen AI Student Fair, the first event of its kind organized by a U.S. school district focused on generative artificial intelligence.
The event aims to highlight how students are using new technology in creative and practical ways. It offers an opportunity for the community to see student projects firsthand and learn about advances in education involving artificial intelligence.
The Gen AI Student Fair is scheduled for April 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Deep Creek Middle, located at 17151 Westerleigh Parkway. According to Chesterfield County Public Schools, “This groundbreaking event will include projects ranging from study buddies to cancer research to recipe creation and more.” Students’ work will be displayed in a showcase area and presented during TED-Talk-like sessions.
The school district said everyone is invited to attend this free event. In addition, information about an upcoming regional summit planned for the fall will be available at the fair.
By hosting this fair, Chesterfield County Public Schools positions itself as an early adopter of generative AI tools within education settings. The initiative may encourage other districts nationwide to explore similar opportunities for students.
