Community members in Chesterfield County are being encouraged to apply for seats on several School Board advisory committees before the Jan. 29, 2026 deadline. These committees serve as a link between the public and Chesterfield County Public Schools, offering input from parents, teachers, staff, students, and other interested residents.

Committee members are selected from each of the county’s five magisterial districts and must reside in the district they represent if appointed by the School Board. “Advisory committee members are appointed from each of the county’s five magisterial districts and include parents, teachers, staff members, students and others interested in helping Chesterfield County Public Schools achieve its vision of creating a better tomorrow,” according to information provided by the school division.

Openings are available on several advisory bodies:

– The Audit and Finance Committee has an opening for a Clover Hill District representative to serve until June 30, 2027.
– The Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee seeks a Bermuda District representative for a term ending June 30, 2026.
– The School Health Advisory Board has positions open for representatives from Dale (through June 30, 2028), Matoaca (through June 30, 2027), and Midlothian (through June 30, 2026) districts. There is also an opening for a mental health wellness expert with experience in the field; this individual may be appointed from any district.
– The Special Education Advisory Committee is seeking parent representatives who currently have children enrolled in special education within Chesterfield County Public Schools. Openings include Dale District (term through June 30, 2026) and Midlothian District (term through June 30, 2028).
