On May 8, law enforcement officers from the Richmond region gathered with Chesterfield County’s Police Department and Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Virginia State Police, for an annual memorial wreath-laying ceremony. The event honors officers who have died in the line of duty.

The ceremony was attended by county leaders and community members. It took place in the courtyard next to the historic 1917 Courthouse, where Chesterfield’s law enforcement agencies have monuments dedicated to officers who lost their lives serving the community.
