Henrico County Government has shared updates on its social media platform, highlighting significant achievements and statistics related to the county’s emergency services and local school accomplishments. The posts provide insights into the activities of the Henrico EMS system as well as accolades received by a high school sports team.

On May 13, 2025, Henrico County Government posted that “Last year, Henrico’s EMS system – composed of the Division of Fire, Police Division, Sheriff’s Office and the Tuckahoe & Lakeside volunteer rescue squads – responded to 47,666 calls for service.” This information underscores the extensive demand placed on emergency services within the county.

In another post from the same day, it was announced that “The Board is honoring @HenricoSchools Freeman High School swim & dive team, which won the VHSL Class 5 championship for both boys & girls earlier this spring. It was the first time Freeman’s boys & girls captured the state title in the same year.” This achievement marks a significant milestone for Freeman High School.

Additionally, Tuckahoe Supervisor Jody Rogish commented on May 13 about the academic success of these student-athletes by stating that @HenricoSchools Tuckahoe Supervisor Jody Rogish notes that the team’s athletic accomplishments did not interfere with their academic work – the girls maintained an average GPA of 4.16 and the boys an average GPA of 3.75 over the past year. This highlights how students were able to balance sports and academics effectively.

Henrico County Public Schools District enrolled 50,464 students during the 2023-24 school year. The district includes notable schools such as Deep Run High School, which had the highest enrollment among its peers with 2,039 students.
