Henrico County Government announced several updates and upcoming events at the Three Lakes Park Nature Center in a series of posts on December 30, 2025.
In its first update, Henrico County Government shared, “Big Aquarium news: A 40,000-gallon outdoor aquatic system is up and running with a new bog filtration system, which visitors can get an underwater view of from inside the center. Fish will be added to the bioactive exhibit in summer 2026!” (December 30, 2025).
The county also promoted free access to native wildlife exhibits and highlighted two public events: “Visit the free native wildlife exhibits during public hours and attend free events:
– Feb. 14: It’s Only Natural: The Wild World of Animal Courtship (18+)
– May 22: Outdoor screening of “Jurassic Park” (all ages)” (December 30, 2025).

Three Lakes Park Nature Center is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
– November-March: Thursday through Sunday
– April-October: Friday through Sunday” (December 30, 2025).
Henrico County operates a single public school district that enrolled over fifty thousand students during the 2023-24 academic year. Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment among all schools in the county for that period. Black students represented the largest ethnic group within Henrico County schools, making up more than one-third of total enrollment. The overall student population saw a slight increase compared to the previous year. Holladay Elementary School had the largest number of pre-kindergarten students among all schools in Henrico County.
