Henrico County Government announced several community initiatives and recent achievements in a series of posts on August 29, 2025. The updates included details about an upcoming public meeting and recognition for local government programs.
On August 29, 2025, Henrico County Government posted: “Tuckahoe Supervisor Jody Rogish will host a public meeting on Wed. Sept. 3 at 1 p.m. at the Tuckahoe Area Library to discuss a pocket park at Maybeury, expansion of refuse collection and public works projects.” The meeting aims to engage residents in discussions about local infrastructure and community improvements.
Later that day, the county highlighted awards received by its agencies: “Henrico Area Mental Health & Developmental Services, @HenricoLibrary and @HenricoSchools earned a combined four achievement awards from the Virginia Association of Counties! Learn more about the VACo-awarded projects online: https://t.co/In5YagXQpZ https://t.co/bXqydxAauA” The post recognized collaborative efforts across multiple departments.

Henrico County Public Schools District is the only school district in Henrico County and enrolled over 50,000 students during the 2023-24 academic year, with Deep Run High School having the highest enrollment among its 68 schools. Black students made up the largest ethnic group in Henrico schools during this period. Enrollment figures saw a slight increase from the previous year. Holladay Elementary School had the largest number of pre-kindergarten students in the county.
The recent awards from the Virginia Association of Counties reflect ongoing efforts by Henrico’s government agencies to address local issues such as mental health, education, and public engagement.
