Henrico County Government has announced several updates and initiatives via its official Twitter account, including enhancements to school facilities and the launch of a new job search website. The posts provide insight into ongoing improvements and opportunities within the county.
On May 4, 2026, Henrico County Government highlighted an upgrade at Freeman High School: “Freeman High’s lone practice field now features synthetic turf, enhancing access, durability & playability. The turf field ‘will help not only the PE classes but the after-school sports. It will also help the community,’ Tuckahoe District Supervisor Jody Rogish said.”
Two days later, on May 6, 2026, another post introduced a digital resource for job seekers: “Meet the county’s new and improved job search website! Search for jobs: https://t.co/QngYmIutS5”. A subsequent tweet on the same day encouraged individuals interested in public service careers: “If you’ve been curious about a new role, consider a career with Henrico! There are almost 200 roles currently open for general government, schools and public safety.”
Henrico County Public Schools District is the only school district in Henrico County and enrolled 50,464 students during the 2023-24 school year (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Among its schools, Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment that year with 2,039 students (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Black students comprised the largest ethnic group in Henrico County schools at 35.7% of total enrollment (17,966 students), followed by white students at 31.9% (16,066 students) (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Total student enrollment grew slightly by 0.1% from the previous year to reach 50,383 (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home).
