Henrico County Government announced recent developments and recognitions on its official Twitter account, including enhancements to its employment website, acknowledgment by Forbes as a top employer, and participation in a community housing initiative.

On May 6, 2026, Henrico County Government posted that “Searching for open roles is now easier than ever with the new website, where you can browse by department and full, part-time or temporary status.”

In a subsequent tweet the same day, the county highlighted its recent accolade: “Henrico was named as one of Forbes’ 2025 best in-state employers for its nationally recognized agencies. Join a team that serves more than 300,000 residents every day!”

Later on May 6, Henrico County Government shared news about joining other organizations to support local housing initiatives: “Henrico is proud to join @SalArmyRVA & others to make the Center of Hope a reality. ‘Ensuring safe, accessible housing for neighbors in crisis requires a comprehensive, community-wide solution,’ Board of Supervisors Chair Roscoe Cooper III said.”

Henrico County Public Schools District is the only school district in Henrico County and enrolled 50,464 students during the 2023-24 school year. According to state education data, Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment among the county’s 68 schools with 2,039 students. Black students made up the largest ethnic group in Henrico schools at 35.7% of total enrollment (17,966 students), followed by white students at 31.9% (16,066 students). The county’s overall school enrollment grew slightly from the previous year by 0.1%, reaching a total of 50,383 students.

Among elementary schools during this period, Holladay Elementary School enrolled the largest number of pre-kindergarten students—212 children—which represented 17.2% of all pre-kindergarteners in Henrico County. Tuckahoe Elementary School led kindergarten enrollments with 113 students or about 3.3% of all kindergartners countywide.

These announcements reflect ongoing efforts by Henrico County Government to improve public services and highlight both workforce development and community engagement initiatives.
