Henrico County Government has announced several new contracts following a recent Board vote. These developments were shared via the county’s official Twitter account on May 13, 2025.

The county has awarded an annual, unit-price contract for surface asphalt recycling. According to the announcement, “the county estimates first-year expenditures of $1.5M.”

In another update, Henrico County disclosed that it has granted a $230K contract for lighting along the Virginia Capital Trail at Rocketts Landing. This project includes the installation of 15 solar lights and two additional fixtures and poles for future maintenance. The announcement noted, “Following the Board’s vote, the county has awarded a $230K contract for lighting along the Virginia Capital Trail at Rocketts Landing, including installation of 15 solar lights and two additional fixtures & poles for future maintenance.”

Work on these projects is expected to commence this month and be completed in approximately four months. The tweet stated, “Work is expected to begin this month and be completed in about four months.”

Henrico County Public Schools District enrolled 50,464 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among its schools, Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment with 2,039 students.
