Henrico County Government shared updates on community development, land conservation, and senior recognition in a series of posts on August 7, 2025.

In the first post at 12:00 UTC, Henrico County Government announced plans for a new neighborhood park near Maybeury Elementary School and Tuckahoe Family YMCA. Later that day at 20:54 UTC, the county highlighted its ongoing commitment to land preservation. The post read: “Land conservation has been a theme in Varina since Henrico’s 1979 purchase of a dairy farm that became Dorey Park. Now, 6,000+ acres east of Route 895 & south of Charles City Rd have been protected from development through the county’s efforts.”

At 23:32 UTC, Henrico County Government invited residents to recognize centenarians within the community. The post stated: “If you know someone in our community who is 100 or older, the @Henrico County, VA – Aging Service would love to honor them at this year’s Centenarian Celebration on Monday, Sept 22.”
