Henrico County Government has announced several upcoming public events and infrastructure updates through its official Twitter account, providing information on community planning, government meetings, and environmental improvements.
On August 20, 2025, Henrico County Government posted about a forthcoming public design event: “Henrico plans public design event Aug. 25-28 to study Lakeside Ave business corridor and nearby areas: https://t.co/1aJV6CDyeY https://t.co/ts0Xw91vjC”. The event is scheduled to take place from August 25 to August 28 and will focus on the Lakeside Avenue business corridor as well as adjacent neighborhoods.
The following day, the county announced two Board of Supervisors meetings set for August 26 at the Henrico County Government Center. According to the post dated August 21, “The Board of Supervisors will hold a special meeting at 3:15 p.m. and a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26 at the Henrico County Government Center, 4301 E. On August 22, an update was provided regarding environmental restoration efforts at Lake Overton: “Lake Overton has been improved to address safety & environmental concerns caused by damage from Hurricane Gaston in ’04. Public Works is finishing a project that’s upgraded the dam embankment & spillway & added native plantings. The lake isn’t yet at its peak water level.”
Henrico County is home to one public school district with over 50,000 students enrolled during the 2023-24 academic year (source). Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment among local schools that year (source). Black students made up the largest ethnic group in county schools during this period (source). Total student enrollment increased slightly compared to the previous year (source), while Holladay Elementary School enrolled more pre-kindergarten students than any other school in the county (source).
