Henrico County Government recently issued several updates regarding local infrastructure, financial recognition, and personnel matters. The information was disseminated through the county’s official social media channels.

On July 14, 2025, Henrico County Government announced that “Meadow Rd will be closed between Hanover Rd & Chartwood Dr from July 15-17 for sewer main work. Beginning Friday, July 18, Meadow will close daily 9 a.m.-4 p.m. for work that will continue through July, weather permitting. A detour will use Hanover, Graves Rd & Chartwood.”

On July 15, 2025, the county reported a continued achievement in governmental transparency and fiscal responsibility: “For the 44th consecutive year, Henrico has earned the top recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. Later on July 15, a statement was released concerning disciplinary action within the fire department: “Statement from Fire Chief Jackson Baynard: @HenricoFire is aware of charges filed by the Hanover Sheriff’s Office against Master Firefighter Brian G. Martin. Due to the nature of the charges, he has been suspended without pay, effective immediately.”

As context for these developments, Henrico County Public Schools District enrolled over 50,000 students during the 2023-24 school year across its 68 schools. Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment with over 2,000 students. The district’s demographic data showed Black students comprised approximately one-third of total enrollment—the largest ethnic group—followed by white students.
