Henrico County Government recently shared a series of tweets regarding traffic updates due to upcoming road closures. These announcements, made on June 10, 2025, focus on the closure of westbound lanes for utility work and provide information about alternative routes and timings.

In a tweet posted on June 10, Henrico County Government issued a “Traffic Alert” announcing that “all westbound lanes of Bethlehem Road between Roux Street and Staples Mill Road will be closed during the late evening and overnight hours beginning Tuesday, June 10 for gas utility installation.”

Further guidance was provided in another tweet at the same time, stating that “while work is underway, a detour will direct motorists to use Staples Mill, Libbie Mill East Boulevard and Libbie Lake East Street.”

The final update noted the specific timing of the closure: “The closure will be in effect from 7 p.m. Tuesday through 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 11. If necessary to complete the work, the closure will resume during the same hours from Wednesday night through the morning of Thursday, June 12. Daytime traffic will not be affected.”

Henrico County is home to an extensive public school system with significant enrollment figures. During the 2023-24 school year, Henrico County Public Schools District enrolled over 50,000 students across various grade levels.
