Henrico County Government highlighted several upcoming community programs and public advisories in a series of posts on September 29, 2025. The updates included information about youth development opportunities, community events, and a scheduled water system field test.

In its first post at 19:03 UTC, Henrico County Government described the role of the local 4-H program, stating: “As the youth development education program of the @VACoopExt, 4-H allows young people to participate in activities that emphasize 4-H’s ‘learning by doing’ philosophy of youth development. The program’s mission is to develop leadership, citizenship and life skills.”

A follow-up message posted at 19:03 UTC detailed some of the activities planned for an upcoming event: “The event will also feature a gourd decorating contest and the option to participate in the ninth annual Crunch Heard ‘Round the Commonwealth initiative.”

Later that evening at 20:24 UTC, Henrico County issued a public advisory regarding utility work scheduled for September 30. The post read: “Henrico County is advising residents that the City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities will conduct field tests Tuesday, Sept. 30, on a water transmission main along Hermitage Road in the city.”

Henrico County is served by one school district—Henrico County Public Schools—which enrolled over 50,000 students during the 2023-24 academic year according to data from the Virginia Department of Education (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Deep Run High School reported the highest enrollment among all county schools with more than two thousand students during that period. Black students made up nearly thirty-six percent of total enrollment, while white students represented just under thirty-two percent (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Holladay Elementary School had notable pre-kindergarten enrollment figures as well.

These announcements reflect ongoing efforts by Henrico County Government to inform residents about educational initiatives and infrastructure developments within its jurisdiction.
