Henrico County Government announced on December 3, 2025, that its Board has approved several resolutions affecting local facilities and property use. The measures include new lease agreements with the Henrico County School Board for former library sites and the purchase of a property to address flooding concerns.
According to the county’s official Twitter account, “The Board has approved a resolution for lease agreements with the Henrico County School Board regarding the former Fairfield & Varina libraries. The School Board plans to use the facilities for administrative offices and a transportation zoning office, respectively.” This decision repurposes existing public buildings for school district needs.
Further details were provided in a follow-up post: “The initial term of the leases is for five years at $1 annually.” The nominal lease rate reflects an intergovernmental agreement between county entities.
In addition to these lease approvals, Henrico County reported another property action: “The Board has approved a resolution for the purchase of property at 187 Brooks Road for $287K. The county is acquiring the property to address flooding & drainage problems in the area.”
