Henrico County Government announced a delayed opening for general government offices and facilities following a snowstorm, according to a series of posts on its official social media account.
On December 8, 2025, Henrico County Government posted, “The early closure applies to all facilities, including libraries, recreation centers and public-use areas.” The same day, officials warned about potential hazards due to winter weather: “Road conditions could deteriorate overnight, according to forecasts. Residents are encouraged to follow Henrico’s social media platforms for information and updates on operations for Tuesday.”
By the morning of December 9, county authorities provided an update on operational hours: “Henrico County general government offices and facilities will open at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 following Monday’s snowstorm. The a.m. dockets of Henrico’s courts will begin at 11 a.m.”
Henrico County is home to the Henrico County Public Schools District, which enrolled over 50,000 students during the 2023-24 school year (source). Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment among the district’s schools with more than 2,000 students (source). During this period, Black students represented the largest ethnic group in county schools at nearly 36% of total enrollment (source).
