Henrico County Government announced a series of infrastructure projects and road system updates in a set of posts published on July 22, 2025.
In the first post, the county detailed plans for improvements to Three Chopt Road: “The project will widen and install curb & gutter, sidewalks & other improvements on a 2.1-mile segment of Three Chopt, from Barrington Hills Drive to 1,000 feet east of Gaskins Road: https://t.co/dbUMEjD6Z1.” (July 22, 2025).
A subsequent update reported an addition to the county-maintained road network: “The Board has approved a resolution accepting about 0.1 miles of Church Spire Lane into the county road system for maintenance.” (July 22, 2025).
The final announcement described a contract award for culvert replacement: “Following the Board’s vote, the county has awarded a $1.85M contract for replacement of a culvert on Meadow Road, over Boar Swamp Creek near U.S. Route 60. The project will install a triple box culvert and extend road shoulders to accommodate guardrails.” (July 22, 2025).
Henrico County is home to Henrico County Public Schools District, which enrolled more than 50,000 students during the 2023-24 school year according to data from the Virginia Department of Education (source). The district’s enrollment increased slightly by 0.1% compared to the previous year (source). Deep Run High School had the highest student population among local schools with over two thousand students enrolled in that period (source). Black students represented the largest ethnic group in Henrico County schools during this time frame (source).
