Henrico County Government announced via social media that the deadline for tax payments, originally set for December 5, has been extended to Monday, December 8, due to office closures caused by inclement weather.

On December 5, 2025, Henrico County Government stated: “Because of the closure, the county has extended the deadline for tax payments that were originally due Dec. 5. The deadline, which applies to installment payments of real estate and personal property taxes for the second half of 2025, is now Monday, Dec. 8.” Later that day, an additional post reiterated: “With its offices closed today for inclement weather, Henrico has extended the deadline for tax payments that were originally due Friday, Dec. 5. The deadline, which applies to second installment payments of real estate & personal property taxes, is now Monday, Dec. 8.” For residents seeking further details or assistance with their tax payments during this period, the county advised: “For more information, visit the Department of Finance’s website or contact the Treasury Division at 804-501-4729 or taxhelp@henrico.gov.”

Henrico County serves a large community with significant public infrastructure. During the 2023-24 school year alone, Henrico County Public Schools District enrolled over 50,000 students across its schools (source). Deep Run High School reported the highest enrollment among all schools in the county with more than two thousand students (source). The student population is diverse; Black students comprised nearly 36% of total enrollment in recent data (source). Overall school enrollment increased slightly from the previous year (source), and Holladay Elementary led pre-kindergarten enrollment figures within Henrico (source).

The extension aims to accommodate taxpayers affected by service interruptions and ensure continued access to essential government functions during adverse weather conditions.
