Henrico County Government highlights $1.9B visitor spending and announces board meetings

Henrico County Government shared updates on local tourism spending and upcoming Board of Supervisors meetings in a series of recent social media posts.

On September 17, 2025, the county reported that “Visitors collectively spent more than $1.9 billion in Henrico County during 2024, a total that continued to lead localities in central Virginia and remained the fifth highest in Virginia, according to an annual study by Virginia Tourism Corp.” The post included a link for further information about the economic impact of tourism.

The following day, Henrico County Government announced scheduling details for its governing body: “The Board of Supervisors will hold a special meeting at 3:30 p.m. and a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23 at the Henrico County Government Center, 4301 E. Parham Road. The agendas: https://t.co/n6qWtLULF2 https://t.co/M7BmF3dCgs” Later that day, a corrected link was provided with the message: “Corrected link: https://t.co/bkXhvDsnes”

Henrico County is also home to one public school district serving over 50,000 students during the 2023-24 academic year (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Deep Run High School recorded the highest enrollment among all schools in the county with more than two thousand students enrolled (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). During this period, Black students made up approximately one-third of total enrollment—the largest ethnic group—followed by white students (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Enrollment figures have seen slight growth compared to previous years (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home), and Holladay Elementary School led pre-kindergarten enrollment numbers within the district (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home).
