In one post dated August 8, 2025, Henrico County Government stated that “Geleene Goffena feels supported in her role as a program manager for Henrico’s Department of Community Revitalization. She is encouraged to take initiative and find creative ways to help make residents’ lives better.”

A follow-up tweet quoted Goffena directly: “The county leadership is so open to hearing from employees about ways to make changes, ways to do something better, all in the service of the people of Henrico County to make their lives better, to make the community better as a whole,” she said.

Additionally, Henrico County Government promoted its workplace environment and career opportunities: “Level up your career by working for Henrico – one of the best employers in VA, according to @Forbes! The county offers competitive salaries, excellent benefits, career advancement opportunities, & an inclusive work environment. Explore job opportunities.”

Henrico County is home to a single public school district with over 50,000 students enrolled during the 2023-24 academic year. According to state data from the Virginia Department of Education (source), Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment among local schools at more than 2,000 students. Black students represented approximately 36% of total enrollment that year—the largest ethnic group—while white students made up nearly 32%. The overall student population increased slightly compared to the previous year. Holladay Elementary School had the most pre-kindergarten enrollments within the county.

These figures provide context for workforce discussions in Henrico County and underscore its scale as both an employer and service provider.
