On January 14, 2026, Henrico County Government shared a statement from Board of Supervisors Chair Roscoe D. Cooper III regarding the legacy of Virginia E. Randolph: “The campus mirrors Virginia E. Randolph’s work as a pioneering educator, Board of Supervisors Chair Roscoe D. Cooper III said. ‘She devoted her life to helping Black communities succeed through education. It gives me great pride to honor her today,’ he said.”

Later that day, Henrico County Government informed residents about changes to office hours and services due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day: “Henrico government offices & courts will be closed Monday, Jan. 19 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Trash collection will not occur & will resume Tuesday on a 1-day delay through the week. Public-use areas will be open. Recycling service through CVWMA will be on a normal schedule.”
