Henrico County Government shared updates on recent Board actions during a public meeting, including ordinances and resolutions impacting local property owners.
On August 13, 2025, the Henrico County Government posted that “The Board approved an ordinance to vacate the 35-foot building line at 8504 Rivermont Drive. This will allow the property owners to make improvements to their front porch.” In another post from the same day, the government stated “The Board approved a resolution for a quitclaim deed to release any county interest in a utility easement at 620 N. Ivy Ave.”
Additionally, Henrico County Government announced, “The Board is moving to the public comment portion of the meeting. For those participating on Webex, the guidance to participate is online. https://t.co/E7ShnbXQi2” The announcement was also made on August 13, 2025.
Henrico County is home to one school district—Henrico County Public Schools—which enrolled 50,464 students during the 2023-24 academic year, reflecting a slight increase of 0.1% over the previous year’s total enrollment of 50,341 (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Among its schools, Deep Run High School had the highest student body with 2,039 enrollees in that period (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Demographically, Black students comprised the largest ethnic group within the district at nearly 36% of all students; white students followed at almost 32% (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Holladay Elementary School enrolled more pre-kindergarten students than any other elementary school in Henrico County for that year (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home).
