Henrico County Government has announced details for the 2026 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp, highlighting early-bird registration and available spaces for children. The information was shared through a series of posts on April 17, 2026.
In a post on April 17, Henrico County Government stated: “Why did the tree go to summer camp? It wanted to branch out and make new friends!
The early-bird registration rate for the 2026 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp ends Wednesday, April 22!

A follow-up post on the same day provided further details: “Children ages 9 through 13 can be registered for the camp, which will be held July 27-31 at the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center. About 40 spaces remain available.”
Additional activities were outlined in another post from April 17: “Campers will enjoy a fun, safe environment where they can branch out and explore the outdoors through activities such as swimming, archery, canoeing, basketball, volleyball, forestry, shooting education, campfires, crafts, marine science, skits and more.”
Henrico County Public Schools District is the only school district in Henrico County and enrolled over 50,000 students during the 2023-24 school year (source). During that period, Black students represented the largest ethnic group in county schools at nearly 36% of enrollment (source). Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment among all schools in the district with just over two thousand students (source).
The annual junior camp is part of ongoing efforts by local government to provide educational and recreational opportunities for youth in a county with steadily increasing student numbers (source).
