Henrico County Government has provided updates on ongoing utility projects, school leadership recognition, and workforce opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities through a series of posts between September 29 and October 1, 2025.

On September 29, Henrico County Government reported collaboration among local utility teams: “Utility teams from Hanover, Henrico and Richmond are working closely throughout this project. Each will play a role in Tuesday’s tests to confirm the system remains stable and resilient ahead of the tie-in of the relocated main, which is planned for mid to late October.”

Later that day, the county shared remarks from County Manager John Vithoulkas regarding community leadership: “This place be forever known as the house that Nelson and Cashwell built,” County Manager John Vithoulkas said, referring to Varina Supervisor Tyrone Nelson & Superintendent Amy Cashwell.

On October 1, attention shifted to inclusive employment initiatives: Adults with developmental disabilities are finding fulfillment working on the mobile crew of Hermitage Enterprises. “Having the opportunity to show people what they can do … is just incredible,” said Kara Williams, a developmental services supervisor.

The recent statements from county officials highlight ongoing efforts in infrastructure resilience, educational leadership acknowledgment, and support for workforce inclusivity.
