Henrico County Government recently shared updates and insights through a series of tweets, covering topics from voting logistics to reflections on aging. These communications provide residents with essential information about upcoming events and thought-provoking discussions relevant to the community.

On June 6, 2025, Henrico County Government announced that voting is available at three sites weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Friday, June 13. The tweet reminded citizens that “today is the last day to request an absentee ballot by mail or fax.” It also confirmed that polls will be open for in-person voting on Election Day, Tuesday, June 17. The following day, June 7, Henrico County Government tweeted a quote from Jenny Inker during a luncheon celebrating Older Americans Month. Inker posed the question: “What does it mean to be old? When do you become old?”, sparking discussion among experts in attendance.

In another tweet posted simultaneously on June 7, Henrico County Government reported that Jenny Inker received varied responses during her inquiry at the luncheon. As noted in the tweet: “The associate professor of gerontology at @VCU got plenty of responses: becoming a grandparent, caring less about other people’s opinions, managing new health challenges and noticing gray hair.”

Additionally, during the 2023-24 school year in Henrico County Public Schools District—the only district in Henrico County—there were notable enrollment figures across various grades and schools. Deep Run High School had the highest overall enrollment with 2,039 students while Black students represented the largest ethnic group within county schools.
