The City of Richmond’s Department of Public Utilities is proposing new regulations or changes to existing ones concerning the management of gas, wastewater, water, stormwater, and electric utilities. The department has announced a public hearing to invite community feedback on these proposals.
The proposed amendments include the Water Resources Guidance Manual and the Erosion and Stormwater Management Permit (RESMP) Process Quick Sheet. Both documents are set for discussion at a public hearing scheduled for July 29, 2025. The hearing will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 1801 Commerce Road in Richmond, Virginia.
Residents are encouraged to attend the hearing to express their opinions on the adoption of these amendments. Those unable to attend can submit written comments to Daniel Rifenburgh via email before the hearing date.
The Department aims to ensure transparency and community involvement in shaping utility service regulations through this initiative.
