Richmond DSS to relocate downtown offices, temporary services available at Southside Center

The Richmond Department of Social Services (DSS) has announced that its offices at 900 E. Marshall Street will close to the public starting Friday, December 19, 2025. The closure is part of a planned move to new office space downtown. DSS will reopen for in-person services at 300 E. Franklin Street in January 2026.

During the transition, residents needing in-person assistance can visit the Southside Community Services Center at 4100 Hull Street Road in Richmond. DSS also offers many programs and resources online and by phone. Residents seeking more information are encouraged to visit www.rva.gov/social-services or call (804) 646-7212.
