Hanover County, VA issued the following announcement on Aug. 17
Hanover Museum of History & Culture Ribbon Cutting on August 28
The Hanover Museum of History & Culture, located at 7496 County Complex Road on the historic Hanover Courthouse grounds, will officially open to the public following a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, August 28, at 9:30 a.m.
The celebration event will run until 1 p.m. with tours of the Museum, Parsons' Cause re-enactments, live music and vendors with a variety of demonstrations and activities for all ages. The first 500 visitors to the Hanover Museum of History & Culture during this event will receive a Hanover Museum commemorative gift.
The Museum will feature exhibits pertaining to Hanover’s history but also its current way of life, as well as visitor information about the county’s attractions. The Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibit “Crossroads: Change in Rural America” will be on display at this time. This will be the first of six sites around Virginia to host a five-week exhibit which offers the community a chance to learn more about the local stories of rural change and growth.
