Randolph-MacOn College issued the following announcement on Feb. 19
Sophomore Annie Bartley (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) tallied six goals as the Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team won its season opener 18-7 at Methodist on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
- Sophomore Amelia Davis (Davidsonville, Md./South River) registered the first two goals of the game. Bartley had two of the next five goals and also had an assist as the Yellow Jackets led 7-0 after one quarter.
- The Monarchs would tally three straight goals in the second period before freshman Rianna Lowery (Bel Air, Md./Notre Dame Prep) scored her first collegiate goal on an assist from senior Lily Henderson (Manakin-Sabot, Va./St. Catherine's) to give R-MC an 8-3 advantage at halftime.
- Senior McKenzie Hynson (Pasadena, Md./Northeast) and Davis had the first two scores of the third quarter as the lead grew to 10-3. Following an MU goal, junior Kayla Ross (Gambrills, Md./Arundel) scored to make it 11-4. After a Monarch goal, Bartley had two goals in the final 70 seconds as the Yellow Jackets led 13-5 after three periods.
- Hynson scored in the first minute of the fourth quarter and Bartley added two more to make it 16-5 with just under 10 minutes remaining. MU would have the next two goals before Lowery scored her second goal on an assist by freshman Taylor Mittelstadter (Chesterfield, Va./Manchester). Freshman Evie McNeally (Severna Park, Md./Archbishop Spalding) had the final goal of the game on an assist by Lowery to make the final 18-7.
- Bartley led the scoring with six goals. Hynson and Davis both tallied three, while Lowery and McNeally had two apiece.
- Senior Caraline Cypher (Havre de Grace, Md./Havre de Grace) recorded two saves in the first 30 minutes. Sophomore Emma Taylor (Huntongtown, Md./Huntingtown) had two saves in the third period.
- Hynson paced the Yellow Jackets with seven ground balls, while McNeally added four.
- Hynson, Lowery and senior Italia Carnazza (Fairfax, Va./Paul VI) each had two caused turnovers.
- Randolph-Macon will have its home opener on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. against N.C. Wesleyan. All games this season will be played on Nunnally Field on the west side of the railroad tracks.
