Randolph-Macon sophomore Drew Ramos (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) has been selected as the ODAC Pitcher of the Week following his performance against Hampden-Sydney.
The right-hander went 6.0 innings with three hits, no earned runs and 11 strikeouts in a 5-2 conference win over the Tigers.
H-SC scored unearned runs in each of the first two innings. The Tigers put two runners on to start the third, but Ramos used two strikeouts and a flyout to strand the runners. Ramos retired the final 12 batters he faced, six by strikeout. He raised his record to 4-0.
For the season, Ramos has appeared in nine games with seven starts. He has fanned 56 in 36.1 innings. His ERA is 2.97 and his strikeouts per nine innings are 13.87, third in the ODAC and 18th in the nation.
Randolph-Macon will play at Methodist on Wednesday, April 27 at 6 p.m. The Yellow Jackets will host Virginia Wesleyan on Thursday, April 28 at 3:30 p.m. in a rescheduled ODAC contest.
