The Doswell Water Treatment Plant has once again received outstanding honors from the Commonwealth. Hanover County’s Department of Public Utilities has received the 2022 Gold Award for Excellence in Water Treatment Plant Performance from the Office of Drinking Water of the Virginia Department of Health. Doug Meyer with the Virginia Department of Health’s Office of Drinking Water presented the award Wednesday to the County during the Hanover Board of Supervisor's meeting.
Those there to accept the award were, Hanover’s Public Utilities Chief of Operations and Maintenance Dave VanGelder, Superintendent for the Dosewell Water Treatment Plant Jonathan England, Hanover County Board of Supervisors Chair Angela Kelly-Wiecek, and Hanover County’s Director of Public Utilities Steven P. Herzog. Meyer said during the presentation that Hanover County has had perfect record of health since the award began. He told the Board, “The consumers of Hanover that you represent, and I serve have been blessed with excellent water for 18 years." Herzog said, "It is a team effort."
