Former Randolph-Macon point guard Buzz Anthony has announced that he has signed to play professionally for Uni Baskets Paderborn, a team that plays in the ProA, which stands as the second-highest basketball league in Germany and is stationed in Paderborn, Germany.
Anthony graduated from Randolph-Macon back in the spring and leaves behind a storied legacy, one in which brought the Yellow Jackets their first NCAA Championship in program history and being named the Most Outstanding Player in the 2022 NCAA Championship. He was names d3hoops.com National Player of the Year this past year as well as ODAC Player of the Year all four years. He was a finalist for the Jostens Trophy as the Division III Player of the Year and was on the Bevo Francis Award Top 25 Watch List. Anthony was voted Academic All-America Third Team and was named ODAC Player of the Year for the fourth consecutive season. He led the team in scoring at 17.5 points per game. Anthony was third in the nation with 7.4 assists per contest and ninth in the country with an assist/turnover ratio of 2.99. He had six double-doubles this past season, five with points and assists and the sixth with points and rebounds.
Anthony owns career program records with 798 assists and 256 steals. He is second with 248 made three-pointers and free throw percentage of 86.9%. Anthony is third in program history in scoring with 1,988 points.
Uni Baskets Paderborn is scheduled to play 34 games this coming season, which starts in September and runs through April of 2023 and all games will be livestreamed.
