Women's Golf Finishes Play in First Fall Event

Freshman Elli Flinchum (Summerville, N.C./Rockingham County) led the Randolph-Macon women's golf team in her first career collegiate tournament, shooting a 239 (+23) across 54 holes of golf at the Transylvania Fall Invite. The event featured 36 holes on Saturday, while the final 18 holes were completed Sunday.

The Basics

Tournament: Transylvania Fall Invite

Dates: Saturday, Sept. 10 and Sunday, Sept. 11

Emmerson Bartley (Roanoke, Va./Hidden Valley) finished the event at +44 in her first collegiate event, just ahead of Emma Bonovitch (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) at +55. Madeline Brahler (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) and VyVy Tran (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) rounded out the play for Head Coach Bryan Hearn's side.

The final leaderboard looked almost identical to the one after 36 holes, as the only movement was Wooster jumping Rose-Hulman to claim the final spot on the podium by a single stroke. Texas at Dallas had the best round of the day to maintain the team title, four shots better than Rhodes.
