Women's Tennis Falls to No. 21 Washington and Lee to Open Fall Segment

 The Randolph-Macon women's tennis team suffered its first setback of the fall segment Saturday, falling to No. 21 Washington and Lee on the road at the Duchossois Tennis Center.

The Basics

Score: No. 21 Washington & Lee 9, Randolph-Macon 0

Venue: Duchossois Tennis Center

Records: Randolph-Macon (0-1, 0-1 ODAC); Washington & Lee (1-0, 1-0 ODAC)

The Generals showed why they started the season among the top 25 programs, as Washington and Lee took all nine possible points in the match to open the year. Grace Holderman and Catherine Mowry were able to record four points at No. 1 doubles as was Camilla Thurman and Adele Huffman.

In singles play, Thurman found two points in the first set while Mowry found a point in each of the two sets and the third flight. Huffman was the other Yellow Jacket to record points, as her point came in the final set of her match on court four.
