Men's Hoops Picks Up Ten First Place Votes in Latest Poll

The week nine edition of the D3Hoops.com Top 25 poll was released on Monday evening, and the Yellow Jackets remained in second for the fifth consecutive week, but received four morre first place votes to bring their total to 10. R-MC won their previous 17 matchups and have started the season 19-1 and 11-0 in ODAC play. 

The Yellow Jackets traveled to Averett on Wednesday for their first matchup against each other in ODAC play. After a tight first half, RMC clicked on all cylinders to run away with the lead and win 86-48.

On Saturday, RMC hosted Ferrum as part of a double header in Crenshaw Gym. The Yellow Jackets' offense sparked for the second game in a row, shooting 58% from the field and 42% from three to win their 19th in a row and 59th in a row in Crenshaw, 85-70.

Previously, the Yellow Jackets were picked atop the preseason poll, and were picked eighth in the first poll release of the regular season, fifth in week two, fourth in week three, third in week four, and second in weeks 5-8. After another pair of wins this week, R-MC remains in second of the poll, but received 10 first-place votes to narrow the gap with St. Joseph's (Conn.).

R-MC is one of three ODAC teams in the top 25, as Guilford comes in at number 16 and Hampden-Sydney sits in 18th.

Randolph-Macon will host Shenandoah on Wednesday night for an ODAC matchup at 7:00 p.m. and hit the road to Bridgewater on Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. ODAC contest.
