Lady Panthers Get 4th Win in 5 Games
Virginia Union University's Ny Langley scored 22 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the Lady Panthers to a 68-56 win over Johnson C. Smith University on Wednesday, February 1, in Charlotte, N.C.
It was the Lady Panthers' fourth win in the last five games.
VUU's Taniah Johnson added 11 points in the win.
"It is always hard to win at Brayboy, but we toughed it out and fought extremely hard as a team in this victory." said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach Tierra Terry. "Freshman Hailey Blackwell came up big with 5 steals, Ny Langley had a team high 13 rebounds and Brittini Martin contributed 7 rebounds in this win. We told them from the beginning that rebounding would be key tonight and they stepped up to the challenge."
Virginia Union now returns home to face Elizabeth City State University at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
