Kagey Earns ODAC Player of the Week Nod for Second Time

Randolph-Macon junior Catherine Kagey (Roanoke, Va./Faith Christian) has been named ODAC Player of the Week for women's basketball for the second time this season. This award comes on the heels of a dominant week of play for Kagey.

Catherine made her presence felt in a rematch of the 2022 ODAC championship against Shenandoah, going for 28 points and 11 rebounds in a 65-49 win. It was her fifth such game this season with 20+ points and her sixth double-double on the season. As if that wasn't enough, Kagey's 28 points matched her career high that she set earlier this year in a win over Wiscosin-Oshkosh. She also picked up three assists and four steals in the game as well.

On Saturday, RMC hosted Averett for the annual Back to the Hive event, and Kagey had another solid performance, finishing with 15 points and seven rebounds. She also accumulated three assists, three blocks, and two steals to contribute to a 73-60 win over the Cougars.

This is the second time this season that Kagey earned ODAC Player of the Week, also winning the award for her performance on the trip to Florida during winter break. RMC travels to Eastern Mennonite for their next contest on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
