Randolph-Macon women's basketball junior forward Catherine Kagey (Roanoke, Va./Faith Christian) has been named ODAC Player of the Week for her stellar performances in a 2-0 week for the Yellow Jackets.
Kagey averaged 20.5 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game over the week, scoring 25 points and grabbing 12 boards in the midweek 58-48 win against Salisbury. Her double-double marked her seventh such game this season. She also added two steals and three blocks on the defensive end. In a key ODAC win over Randolph on Saturday, she scored 16 points and totaled nine rebounds to help push RMC to a 54-44 victory.
This marks the third time this season that Kagey has been honored with the award, and second time in the last three weeks. As a part of her stellar season, Kagey currently sits fourth in the ODAC in points per game (15.7), third in rebounds per game (9.3), fourth in field goal percentage (51.1%), and fifth in minutes per game (32.5).
RMC has two road games to complete the regular season, beginning on Wednesday at Lynchburg for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off. The ODAC tournament is slated for February 23-26 in Salem, Va.
