R-MC Men’s Hoops to Host Initial Rounds of NCAA Tournament

Randolph-Macon, the defending national champion, has been selected as one of 16 schools to host first and second round games for the 2023 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament.

The Yellow Jackets (27-1) will face Wilson (19-8) on Friday, March 3 in the second game in Crenshaw Gym. Scranton (20-7) and N.C. Wesleyan (23-4) will play Friday's first game. The winners will meet on Saturday, March 4. Game times will be announced later by the NCAA.

RMC earned the ODAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by defeating Guilford 61-48 on Sunday to win the ODAC Championship for the fourth consecutive year. The Yellow Jackets have won 10 ODAC titles, tying for the most in conference history. RMC extended its winning streak to 25 games.

In its first-round game, RMC will have the opportunity to break the NCAA Division III record for consecutive home wins. The Yellow Jackets have won 62 straight games in Crenshaw Gym, matching the mark set by North Park from 1984-88. It is the longest current home win streak in any Division. UCLA has won 23 straight in Division I and Lincoln Memorial tops Division II at 59. The second-longest current streak in Division III is Mitchell at 19.

The Yellow Jackets are making their 28th NCAA Tournament appearance. RMC has gone to four straight tourneys as well as 10 of the past 13. The Yellow Jackets will be hosting the first two rounds for the fourth straight tournament. RMC has hosted 12 of its past 15 NCAA Tournament games and has gone 10-2 in those 12 contests.
