Randolph-Macon College issued the following announcement on Oct. 1
Randolph-Macon College recently celebrated the retirement of former Senior Associate Dean of Students Kathryn Hull, who retired in June 2021 after 44 years of unparalleled service. Alumni, faculty, staff, and Board members gathered in the historic Randolph-Macon Memorial Garden on Friday, September 24 to honor Hull's career with a bench dedicated in her name.
Dean Hull was an integral member of the R-MC leadership team, serving under three different Deans of Students during her tenure. She managed several different areas within Student Affairs and was quick to step into new roles when key leaders left the College. During the dedication ceremony, colleagues remarked on Dean Hull’s ability to navigate abrupt periods of change, always easing the College into and through transition with wisdom and composure.
President Lindgren complimented Dean Hull’s commitment to the Yellow Jacket community, saying, “Kathryn, I appreciate the way that you have consistently walked your talk. Not only has your walk had a profound effect on the quality of life for your staff and faculty colleagues demonstrated here today, but most especially for all of those students whose lives you have touched so meaningfully.”
“[Dean Hull] is nothing but dedicated to this College and its students,” Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Grant Azdell added. “She has been a force of nature here on this campus in more ways than one. President Lindgren says she walks the talk, and she does. She does exactly what she expects of all of us.”
Randolph-Macon College expresses gratitude for Hull’s lasting contributions to the campus community and wishes her the best in her retirement.
