WBB: Catawba 80, VUU 65
Virginia Union University's Darryn Zeigler scored a team-high 17 points, but Catawba College defeated the Lady Panthers 80-65 on Tuesday, November 22, in Salisbury, N.C.
VUU's Ny Langley led the team with eight rebounds while also scoring 14 points and Taniah Johnson added 12 points in the game.
"A slow start cost us in the end," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach Tierra Terry. "We did not have enough intensity in the first and second quarter and it hurt us in the long run. We will go back and assess film to see what adjustments need to be made as we prepare for Shepherd after the Thanksgiving break."
Virginia Union will open up it's home season when the Lady Panthers face Shepherd University at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
