College of Business Fall 2022 Student Accomplishments

The Reginald F. Lewis College of Business at Virginia State University celebrated the following fall 2022 student accomplishments.  

(1) Elianna Benavidez (Accounting major) earned an offer relevant to a full-time accounting position for after graduation in May at Kearney & Company in D.C. 

(2) Davon Bell (Management major) earned an offer relevant to a paid internship from Ally for the summer.  

(3) Patrick Grier (Management major) earned an offer relevant to a full time management position for after graduation in December at Amazon. 

(4) Helena Abu (Marketing major), Justin Anderson (Marketing major), and Jasmine Pierce (Marketing major) earned a paid internship in marketing for the balance of the semester along with the winter at Virginia Tourism Corporation where they will lead an initiative for the Governor pertinent to scaling the music industry in Virginia. 

(5) Mariaja Travers (Accounting major) participated in a shadow visit with Latoria Henderson (Accountant) at Myers & Stauffer in Richmond. 

(6) DeAsia Nichols (Management major) earned a paid internship at the City of Petersburg in the Office of Real Estate Assessor; said internship is for the fall and spring semesters. 

(7) Helena Abu (Marketing major) earned a paid marketing internship for the balance of the semester at Virginia Linen in Petersburg. 

(8) Justin Anderson (Marketing major), Marcus Jones (Management major), and Darius Starks (Management major) earned an invite to participate in the HBCU Marketplace conference to convene in Baltimore November 2-4. 

(9) Brandon Anderson (CISY major), Emanuel Harris (Marketing major), Chris Lawrence (Management major), LyAsia Monroe (Management major), Sierra Robinson (Marketing major), Nylan Taylor (Marketing major), and Indacia Turner (Accounting major) participated in a four day stay in New York to participate in the Thurgood Marshall Leadership Institute. 

(10) Joe’l Sowers (Management major) shadowed Jim Sowers (Managing Director) at Focus Investment Banking including for a visit to an Associate of Corporate Growth (ACG) event in Richmond. 

(11) Idayziah Jones (Management major) and Omari Kilkenny (Accounting major) participated in the National Black MBA Association conference in Atlanta with dozens of leading employers. 

(12) Aaliyah Duah (Management major) and LaKei Vines (Management major) won a VSU Center for Entrepreneurship Minority Small Business Launch Center pitch competition and a $1,000 award each. 

(13) Jharyta Loveless (Management major) was the Top Performer in Small Group Role-Play as assessed by Sizemore, Deloitte, The Richmond Forum, C&F Bank, Richmond Education Foundation, Austin Brockenbrough & Associates, Liberty Tax, and Appomattox Regional Governor’s School. 

(14) Jasmine Pierce (Marketing major) and Marquis Mason (Marketing major) shadowed Penny Williams (CEO) at Vantage Point Federal Credit Union in Hopewell. 

(15) Elianna Benavidez (Accounting major), Jazlyn Edmunds (Management major), Jazmyne Gaylord (Accounting major), Alahna Knight (Marketing major), and Alanna LaVende (Information Systems major) participated in the RVA College Jam in Richmond with scores of employers along with students from VCU and UR. 

(16) Alanna LaVende (Information Systems major) participated in the Blacks in Tech workshop and innovation competition in Richmond.  

(17) Fifteen students attended a talk at the Petersburg Library with a VP from The Federal Reserve. 

(18) Jasmine Pierce (Marketing major) and Andrew Reed (Marketing major) participated in the Shared Values Summit in Richmond with more than one hundred businesses.    

(19) Shaniece Gentry (Management major) was the Top Performer in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by TowneBank, Bankers Insurance, Virginia Housing, Team Excel, Boys to Men Mentoring, Meadows Urquhart Acree & Cook, Shockoe Wine, C&F Bank, PIC Results, and Rainmaker Industries Group. 

(20) Brandon Anderson (Information Systems major), Davon Bell (Management major), Kirsten Curran (Management major), Emanuel Harris (Management major), and Nylan Taylor (Management major) participated in an alumni panel conversation including with Brandon Hudson (Executive Director) of Simple Intervention and Corey Vickers (Owner) of VA Home Offer. 

(21) Ninety-five students participated in S. L. Nusbaum Day including hosting Nathan Shor (VP) in the classroom with Intro to Business students.  A big thanks to Louis Dabney for his hospitality! 

(22) Twenty students participated in Hire1 Day with Sandee Smith (Owner). 

(23) Fifteen students participated in Quest Business Consulting Day with LaToshia Ngu (Owner). 

(24) Twenty-five students in Principles of Marketing hosting Tom Benedetti (Owner) of Blue Heron Capital in the classroom.  A big thanks to Yun Lee for her hospitality! 

(25) Jasmine Pierce (Marketing major) was admitted to the Gloucester Institute Emerging Leaders Program. 

(26) Elianna Benavidez (Accounting major), Jazmyne Gaylord (Accounting major) and Tomia Watson (Accounting major) participated in the Greater Richmond Association of Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE) breakfast with over one hundred businesses at the Country Club of Virginia in Richmond.  

(27) Ruqayah Ebrahim (Management major), Jazmyne Gaylord (Accounting major), Alanna LaVende (Information Systems major), Kameron Lawrence (Marketing major), Marquis Mason (Marketing major), Jasmine Pierce (Marketing major), Naiya Ray (Marketing major), Janay Samuel (Marketing major), Indacia Turner (Accounting major), and Jovante White (Accounting major) participated in the Virginia Small Business Supplier Diversity conference with fifty businesses. 

(28) Desmond Allen (Management major), Shaniece Gentry (Management major), and Thomas Pointer (Marketing major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play as assessed by Village Bank, Gilbane, State Farm, NY Life, Merrill Lynch, C&F Bank, and Estes. 

(29) Justin Anderson (Marketing major), Anyshia Davis (Management major), and Michael Marfo (Information Systems major) participated in a Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce networking event with forty businesses at Bizworks.  

(30) Seventy students participated in Kearney Day with Hameed Salmond (Senior Manager), Ken Mason (Senior Manager) and Isabel Zavada (Recruiter). 

(31) One hundred students participated in the VSU Career Services Expo with over forty businesses.    

(32) Brandon Anderson (Information Systems major) and Davon Bell (Management major) participated in a Thurgood Marshall intercollegiate competition in Charlotte. 

(33) Shannon Lee (Management/HR major) earned an internship for the semester in Hopewell at STORY. 

(34) Jazlyn Edmunds (Management major) was selected to be a designer for the Danville Fashion Week on November 12th.  

(35) Jasmine Pierce (Marketing major) participated in a meeting in Petersburg with Carthan Currin (President) from The Commonwealth Alliance for Rural Colleges. 

(36) Shaniece Gentry (Management major), Alanna LaVende (Information Systems major), and Tamia Morgan (Accounting major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play as assessed by Lighthouse Labs, Solvaria, Focus Investment Banking, Attributes For Success, C&F Bank, Virginia Excels, BandyWorks, Propel Your Career, William & Mary, Virginia Business Systems, Altria, and the Office of Congressman Donald McEachin. 

(37) Twenty students participated in State Farm Day with Tavorise Marks (Agency Owner).  

(38) Forty students participated in Mpulse Day with Mary Kirkland (Owner). 

(39) Thirty students in Principles in Real Estate hosted Dustin Olverson (Co-Founder) from One Dream Realty Group in the classroom.  A big thanks to Steve Holeman for his hospitality! 

(40) Thirteen students in Principles of Marketing hosted Lashel Williamson (Associate Recruiting Manager) from Altria.  A big thanks to Jun Sang Lim for his hospitality! 

(41) Maleikah Henderson (Marketing major), Jauslynn Israel (Management major), and Nylan Taylor (Marketing major) earned a paid internship to blog for Cry But Don’t Quit pertinent to black history in Petersburg. 

(42) Jackson Taylor (Management major) earned an internship in talent acquisition for the fall semester at Ushur. 

(43) Alani Hayes (Management major and May 22 grad) earned a full-time position in New York at Network Capital in the mortgage industry. 

(44) Thomas Pointer (Marketing major) and Shaniece Gentry (Management major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play as assessed by Fulton Mortgage, Dewberry, SQL Data Partners, C&F Bank, The Yorke Agency, Altria, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Performance Food Group, and the United States Forest Service. 

(45) Sixty students participated in Peoples Advantage Federal Credit Union Day with Deonte’ Barkley (Financial Empowerment Center Director).  

(46) Forty students participated in U.S. Forest Service Day with Michaela Hall (Recruiter). 

(47) Fifty-five students participated in PricewaterhouseCoopers Day with Jermaine Perrine (Digital Assurance & Transparency Associate) and Monique Daniels (Consulting Solutions Associate). 

(48) Seventy students participated in Performance Food Group Day with Tracey Lowery (Talent Acquisition Manager). 

(49) Alahna Knight (Marketing major) earned a paid internship in marketing with the Virginia Cooperative Extension. 

(50) Jaylen McPherson (Management major) was admitted to the Gloucester Institute Emerging Leaders Program and will join Jasmine Pierce (Marketing major) as previously announced; both will be in Gloucester this weekend. 

(51) Shannon Lee (Management/HR major) earned a full-time position for after graduation in December at CGI. 

(52) Jauslynn Israel (Management major), LyAsia Monroe (Management major), and Sierra Robinson (Marketing major) because of their organizations’ success earned from Altria a donation of another $7,500 for the second year in a row to the College of Business; specifically, Altria donated $2,250 to our National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) chapter, $2,250 to our American Marketing Association (AMA) chapter, $2,250 to our Black Data Processing Association (BDPA), and $750 to our Student Advisory Board (SAB). 

(53) Josalyn Green Jones (Management major) and Amari Johnson (Marketing major) participated in a shadow visit in Hopewell on-site at a house flip with Dustin Olverson (Owner) of One Dream Realty Group. 

(54) Fifty-five students participated in BDO Day with Shareem King (DEI Manager) including in Cost Accounting.  A big thanks to Joshua Nyantakyi for his hospitality! 

(55) Ninety students participated in C&F Day with Mike Wilson (Executive Vice President). 

(56) Thirty-five students participated in Girls For A Change Day with Angela Patton (CEO). 

(57) Fifty students participated in Virginia Alcohol Beverage and Control Day with Frances Hill (HR Manager). 

(58) Josalyn Green Jones (Management major), Thomas Pointer (Management major) and Josiah Woodies (Management major) were the Top Performer in Small Group Role-Play as assessed by Evonik, Clocktower Realty Group, Papa John's, Beacon, National Transparency Project, Sabot at Stony Point, and Swift Creek Insurance & Realty. 

(59) Ruqayah Ebrahim (Management major), Jauslynn Israel (Management major) and Jaylen McPherson (Management major) planted trees and flowers outside of Singleton Hall to improve campus aesthetics.  

(60) Daisha Wyatt (Information Systems major) earned a paid internship for the summer in Technology Risk Supervision at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. 

(61) Lauryn Neal (Accounting major) earned a post-graduate internship in accounting at Harris, Hardy & Johnstone in Chesterfield.  

(62) Destiny Henderson (Management major) earned a paid internship for next semester at Washington Gas. 

(63) Donnasia Harper (Marketing major) participated in the HBCU Careers in Sports Combine hosted by the Jacksonville Jaguars. 

(64) Joe’l Bowers (Management major), Kirsten Curran (Management major), and Jasmine Pierce (Marketing major) participated in the Financial Alliance for Racial Equity (FARE) conference in Columbus, Ohio courtesy of Nationwide Insurance. 

(65) Thirty-eight students participated in a visit to the African-American Museum in Washington, D.C. 

(66) One hundred fifty students participated in Chesterfield County Day with Jim Holland and Kevin Carroll (Members of Board of Supervisors). 

(67) Two hundred thirty students participated in Henrico County Day with Monica Smith-Callahan (Deputy County Administrator) including students in Intro to Business, Intro to Information Systems, Organizational Behavior and Leadership, and Organization Policy and Strategy hosting Henrico senior staff in the classroom.  A big thanks to Louis Dabney, Aurelia Donald, J. Pandian, and Ju Jin for their hospitality! 

(68) Twenty students participated in Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity Day with Randy Brown (Business Services Manager). 

(69) Ten students participated in Soaring Eagles Day with Oni Hunter (Executive Director). 

(70) Fifteen students participated in University of District of Columbia Day with Alex Tan (Accounting and Finance Chair). 

(71) Shaniece Gentry (Management major), Kenizjha Jackson (Management major), and Taylor Jones (Management major) were the Top Performer in Small Group Role-Play as assessed by KPMG, James River Financial, C&F Bank, Henrico County, TD, State Farm, Virginia Credit Union, Carvana, and Just Let Me Do It. 

(72) Kevon Wharton (Information Systems major) earned a full time position for after graduation in December in IT at Kearney & Company in D.C. 

(74) Nylan Taylor (Marketing major) earned a paid internship for the summer at Kellogg.  

(74) Joe’l Bowers (Management major), Tiara Clark (Management major), Kirsten Curran (Management major), Jasmine Pierce (Marketing major), and Liyla Riley (Management major) have been selected to attend the Financial Alliance for Racial Equity (FARE) conference to convene this month in Columbus, Ohio courtesy of Nationwide Insurance. 

(75) Emanuel Harris (Marketing major), Iashea Jackson (Management major), LyAsia Monroe (Management major), Kayla Perkins (Marketing major), Sierra Robinson (Marketing major), and Nigel Stewart (Accounting major) represented the College of Business on a float at the Homecoming Parade. 

(76) Omari Kilkenny (Accounting major) earned an all-expenses paid trip to participate in a Fintech Conference to convene November 6th to 8th in Orlando. 

(77) Liyla Riley (Management major) earned an internship in HR for the summer with the Federal Government in northern Virginia at a location unable to disclose. 

(78) Aysia Franklin (Management major) earned a paid internship for the summer in New York at JP Morgan where she will be in Data and Business Analytics. 

(79) Jasmine Pierce (Marketing major) attended the Girls For A Change conference in Richmond at Virginia Union University. 

(80) Kenizjha Jackson (Management major) was the Top Performer in Small Group Role-Play as assessed by Gilbane Building Company, Activation Capital, Richmond Region Tourism, Capitis Advisors, Froehling & Robertson, and Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR). 

(81) Elianna Benavidez (Accounting major) attended the Commonwealth Association for Financial Professionals (CAFP) networking event with industry in Henrico.  

(82) Nia Winston (Management major) participated in the Society of Human Resource Management Young Professional Conference in Chesterfield at Bryant & Stratton College. 

(83) Quentin Gray (Computer Information Systems major), Marquis Mason (Marketing major), Phillip Neubia (Management major), and Indacia Turner (Accounting major) joined Governor Glenn Youngkin, Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears, and Attorney General Jason Miyares for a conversation relevant to VSU partnering with the Commonwealth to provide aid to the City of Petersburg; the students had an opportunity to bend the Governor’s ear relevant to recommendations. 

(84) Jovante White (Accounting major) earned a full time position for after graduation in May at KPMG. 

(85) Iyana Logan (Management major) earned a paid internship for the fall relevant to Business Development at RippleMatch. 

(86) Brandon Anderson (CISY major) earned an invite to participate in the Thurgood Marshall College Fund Leadership Institute in New York on Sept 28th, selected to participate in the intercollegiate competition at Moguls in the Making in September in North Carolina, and lastly selected to participate with TMCF relevant to Salesforce. 

(87) Jauslynn Israel (Management major) was the Top Performer in Small Group Role-Play as assessed by Thalhimer, the Virginia Council for Private Education, Myers and Stauffer, Fulton Bank, Froehling & Robertson, Winter HR Consulting, UHY Advisors, Chesterfield County Public Schools, and the Ettrick-Matoaca Library. 

(88) Sakile Cobb (Marketing major) earned an internship in marketing for the fall semester at Richmond Magazine. 

(89) Sierra Robinson (Marketing major) earned a full time offer for after graduation at United Airlines. 

(90) Blaise Davenport (CISY major) earned a $10,000 scholarship from Rewarding Integrity, Service, and Education (RISE). 

(91) Kevon Wharton (CISY major) earned a paid internship in IT at the Virginia Department of Health for the fall semester. 

(92) Jade Chapman (Marketing major) earned an internship for the fall and spring with Park Heights Renaissance in Baltimore; the experience will be remote. 

(93) Davon Bell (Management major), Ruqayah Ebrahim (Management major) and Naiya Ray (Marketing major) represented VSU at Chesterfield County Night at the Richmond Kickers game hosted by Rob Ukrop (Owner) along with Joe Casey (County Manager). 

(94) Brandon Anderson, Tamir Campbell, Fesaijah Foster, Scott Hill, Jahnyah Jacobs, and Jayvon Teachey (all Information Systems major(s)) participated in a shadow visit to Intact Technology in Richmond with Angela Butler (Director of Operations). 

(95) Helena Abu (Marketing major), Brandon Anderson (Information Systems major), Elianna Benavidez (Accounting major), Mia Bennett (Marketing major), Anyshia Davis (Management major), Aaliyah Duah (Management major), Fesaijah Foster (Information Systems major), Jazmyne Gaylord (Accounting major), Alahna Knight (Marketing major), Jaycee Lowe (Marketing major), Janay Samuel (Marketing major), Nylan Taylor (Marketing major), and Mariaja Travers (Accounting major) hosted a group of thirty Hopewell High School students for an orientation to college/to VSU/and to a life-exploration workshop. 

(96) Taylor Jones (Management major) and Amil Peterson (Management major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play as assessed by Bon Secours, C&F Bank, Atlantic Union Bank, Metamorphosis Consulting, Growing Perspectives, Rough Ice, VCU Massey Cancer Center, The Ridgefield Group, and the United Services Organization “USO”. 

(97) Tamia Morgan (Accounting major) just wrapped up an internship in Tax Compliance at the Virginia Department of Taxation. 

(98) Josiah Woodies (Management major) participated in the Truist HBCU Leadership Summit. 

(99) Kobe Cheseman (Management major) completed his post-graduate internship at Spider Management in Richmond and will transition to his full-time position at FarmRaiser based in Arlington. 

(100) Marcus Jones (Management major) participated in the NAACP Annual Conference in Atlantic City attending workshops and forums. 

(101) Sixty students participated in On the Mic with Mike Day including interviewing on ESPN Radio with Mike King (Radio Host). 

(102) Eighty students participated in Crystal Clear Financial Solutions Day with Crystal Suber (Owner) including in Intro to Business.  A big thanks to Louis Dabney for his hospitality! 

(103) Tynese Ramos (Management minor) shadowed Tyler Lane (Reporter) from CBS. 

(104) Twenty students participated in a conversation with Logan Farrar (Associate at Fannie Mae) in Intro to Accounting.  A big thanks to Leah Hall for her hospitality! 

(105) Davon Bell (Management major) earned an invite to participate in the intercollegiate competition at Moguls in the Making in September in North Carolina. 

(106) Taylor Jones (Management major) was the Top Performer in Small Group Role-Play as assessed by Froehling & Robertson, Kimley-Horn, Topgolf, Waffle House, Defense Logistics Agency, Peoples Advantage Federal Credit Union, Grass Cutters, and Bryant & Stratton College. 

(107) Fifty students participated in Mary Kay Day with Althea Boling (Sales Representative). 

(108) Forty-five students participated in Better Business Bureau Day with Barry Moore (CEO) including in Principles of Finance.  A big thanks to Steve Holeman for his hospitality! 

(109) Twenty students participated in Cry But Don’t Quit Day with India Miles (Owner). 

(110) Thirty students participated in HRichnetworks Day with Helena Richardson (Owner) including in Digital Marketing.  A big thanks to Yun Lee for her hospitality! 

(111) Thirty-five students participated in Family Insight Day with Randy Wilson (State Director of Business Development) including in Business Statistics.  A big thanks to Simran Dhillon for her hospitality! 

(112) Forty students participated in Cleaning For College Day with Countess Harris (Director of Operations) including a lunch and learn. 

(113) Fifty students participated in Love Mila Brand Day with Jamila Johnson (Owner). 

(114) Anyshia Davis (Management major) participated in a Real Estate Workshop in Colonial Heights with forty businesses. 

(115) Forty students participated in Papa John’s Day with Stephanie Paul (Regional Director of Recruiting). 

(116) Indacia Turner (Accounting major) earned a $288 Fallen Trojans scholarship. 

(117) Sixty students participated in HCA Healthcare Day including a lunch and learn in Organization Behavior and Leadership with Nyema Sayed (Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion).  A big thanks to J. Pandian for his hospitality! 

(118) Twenty-five students participated in Story Day with Kathryn Thompson (Executive Director). 

(119) Fifty-five students participated in Waffle House Day with Colin Mitchell (Recruiter). 

(120) Thirty students in Business Information Systems hosted VSU CIO Maurion Edwards in the classroom.  A big thanks to Leah Hall for her hospitality 

(121) Jazmyne Gaylord (Accounting major) earned a full time offer for after graduation at AdvanSix.

(123) Joe’l Bowers (Management major) was admitted to the highly selective Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Richmond Acquired Knowledge Mentor Program. 

(124) Omari Kilkenny (Accounting major) earned a full time offer for after graduation in May at Deloitte in Austin, Texas where he will be an IT Consultant. 

(125) Mone’t Creque (Accounting major), Diamond Fanning (Accounting major), Monique Harrison (Accounting minor), Brandon Jackson (Management major), Bryon Jenkins (Accounting major), Marcus Jones (Management major), Shannon Lee (Management/HR major), Jaycee Lowe (Marketing major), Jasmine Pierce (Marketing major), and Daisha Wyatt (Information Systems major) participated in the HBCU Marketplace in Baltimore.

Carter Enterprises, Collective RVA, Plush Slippers, Unisys, HealthEquity, Towne Bank, and Century Construction. 

(127) Joe’l Bowers (Management major), Ruqayah Ebrahim (Management major), Shaniece Gentry (Management major), Jaylen McPherson (Management major), and Jasmine Pierce (Marketing major) hosted twenty Petersburg High School students and led hands-on experiential workshops pertinent to entrepreneurship, orientation to college, digital footprint, and owning your brand. 

(128) Three hundred fifty-five students participated in Church & Dwight Day with Andy Glowatsky (Plant Manager) and Bob Franklin (HR Director) including in Principles of Marketing and Systems Analysis and Design.  A big thanks to Yun Lee and Adeyemi Adekoya for their hospitality! 

(129) Kenneth Bittner (Information Systems major), Christopher Lawrence (Management major), Jharyta Loveless (Management major), and Josiah Woodies (Management major) participated in a ribbon cutting in Petersburg with Governor Glenn Youngkin. 

(130) Seventeen students in Business Law hosted Gray Collins (Commonwealth’s Attorney for Colonial Heights) in the classroom.  A big thanks to Taneisha Brown for her hospitality! 

(131) Joe’l Bowers (Management major) participated in a shadow visit with John Dickinson (Founding Partner & Managing Director) of Dickinson Williams & Co in Richmond; also of note, Joe’l earned a full-time offer for after graduation in May at Morgan Stanley managing financial assets in Richmond.

(134) Forty students participated in Keiter Day to include hosting Ann Ramage (Partner) in the classroom.  A big thanks to Art Wharton for his hospitality! 

(135) Twenty-five students participated in Destiny Services Day with Betty Ware (HR Director).   

(136) Mone’t Creque (Accounting major), Diamond Fanning (Accounting major), Omari Kilkenny (Accounting major), Winifred Kissieh (Accounting major), Iyana Logan (Management major), Derek Rodgers (Accounting major), Indacia Turner (Accounting major), and Jovante White (Accounting major) won NABA Pathways Scholarships. 

(137) Elianna Benavidez (Accounting major) and Diamond Fanning (Accounting major) earned an invite to participate in the Ph.D. Project in Chicago where they are now participating in workshops. 

(138) Sakile Cobb (Marketing major) was admitted to the highly selective Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) mentoring program and will join Joe’l Bowers (Management major) as previously announced. 

(139) Desmond Allen (Management major), Anyshia Davis (Management major), Kenizjha Jackson (Management major), Bryon Jenkins (Accounting major), Tania Judkins (Management major), Tamia Morgan (Accounting major), and Daisha Wyatt (Information Systems major) visited the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds for the Chesterfield Colonial Heights Alliance for Social Ministry (CCHASM) stuff the bag event; invited by Dawn McCoy (Executive Director), volunteers stuffed 3,200 bags of food for Thanksgiving. 

(140) Josalyn Green-Jones (Management major) visited with Keith Boswell (CEO) at Virginia’s Gateway Region. 

(141) Ruqayah Ebrahim (Management major) and Josalyn Green-Jones (Management major) participated in a real estate networking event with twenty companies in Colonial Heights.   

(142) Ten students hosted Sam Anderson (CEO) from Enso Media in the classroom.  A big thanks to Yun Lee for her hospitality! 

(143) Thirty-five students participated in State Farm Day with Haile Lytton (Franchise Owner).  

(144) Fifteen students participated in Farm Credit of the Virginia’s Day with Megan Arrington (HR Assistant).  

(145) Twenty students participated in Kids on First Day with Sherry Cerny (Executive Director). 

(146) Twelve students participated in Liberty Tax Day with Patricia Griswold (Franchise Owner). 

(147) Nigel Stewart (Accounting major) and Mariaja Travers (Accounting major) earned full-time positions in accounting at Kearney & Company for after graduation; they will join Elianna Benavidez (Accounting major) and Kevon Wharton (Information Systems major) as previously announced. 

(148) Jalen Mason (Accounting minor) and Tomia Watson (Accounting major) have earned paid summer internships at Kearney & Company. 

(149) Sierra Robinson (Marketing major) has earned a full time position for after graduation in May as an Associate Account Executive at Epsilon. 

(150) Iyana Logan (Management major) has earned a paid internship for the spring semester at Brown Edwards. 

(151) Josalyn Green-Jones (Management major), Tania Judkins (Management major), Tamia Morgan (Accounting major), Sierra Robinson (Marketing major) and Ariel Simmons (Marketing major) earned paid internships for the spring semester at Liberty Tax in Colonial Heights. 

(152) Blaise Davenport (Information Systems major) was profiled on the front page of the VSU Statesman newspaper. 

(153) Josiah Woodies (Management major) has earned a paid internship for the summer with the Wall Street Diversity Accelerator program.  

(154) Brandon Anderson (Information Systems major) participated in a Legislative Reception with dozens of elected officials. 

(155) Maleikah Henderson (Management major) and Nylan Taylor (Marketing major) participated in a Black Petersburg workshop with India Miles (Owner) of Cry But Don’t Quit. 

(156) Jasmine Pierce (Marketing major) has earned a paid internship in Digital Media for the summer at Church & Dwight. 

(157) Josalyn Green-Jones (Management major), Emanuel Harris (Marketing major), Heaven Jenkins (Marketing major), Janay Samuel (Marketing major) and Indacia Turner (Accounting major) attended a Metropolitan Business League Fashion Show. 

(158) Brandon Anderson (Information Systems major), Joe’l Bowers (Management major) and Indacia Turner (Accounting major) participated in a Partnership for Petersburg event at Pathways with Governor Glenn Youngkin.
